ICC told PCB India not going to Pakistan for champions trophy 2025 :- BCCI verbally informed ICC that they are not going to Pakistan for champions trophy and icc forwarded this massage to Pakistan cricket board. And now Pakistan Cricket Board has asked for reason in written form International Cricket Council .
Let me tell you that BCCI told ICC that on behalf of our government for Due to security reason the Indian team has not got permission to travel to Pakistan. Now BCCI will provide this in writing to ICC, after which ICC will forward the written documents to PCB. The Champions Trophy was to be held from 19 February to 9 March in 2025. Pakistan got the hosting right. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2008 but was cancelled for security reasons and shifted to South Africa in 2009. And in 2009 terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket players after that there was no international cricket in Pakistan for many years.
Pakistan was very happy with this hosting right that after many years they got a chance to host an ICC event. And they were very happy that all the international teams would come and specially India. Pakistani people were eagerly waiting for this day. But this did not happen.
Let me tell you that just many days ago PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had held a press conference at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and said that “no country had discussed the hybrid model” with them nor was Pakistan willing to talk about it. India will have to come Pakistan and this time we are not thinking about any hybrid model and this time all the matches of Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan.
But now when ICC has told PCB that Indian Cricket team will not travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025 , then PCB chairman will now have to play this tournament in hybrid model only, which means that all the matches of India will have to be played in some neutral county outside Pakistan. And even though Pakistan is the host country, our and India’s matches will also be played outside at some neutral venue. And if India reaches the final then the final will also not be in Pakistan.
This news is not good for Pakistan cricket and Pakistani people will also be sad after this news. They were eagerly waiting for this tournament. Pakistani wanted to see Virat Rohit Bumrah and Indian cricketers playing in Pakistan. Unfortunately this is not going to happen. They have to wait again to see it happen in Pakistan.
And Pakistan is also getting its stadium renovated in preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025 . Pakistan had also got the budget of Champions Trophy passed. ICC approved budget of approximately $65 -$70 million was passed. This budget included that if Pakistan has to organise some matches outside Pakistan, when India refuses to go Pakistan for the tournament . Now Pakistan will finalise a neutral venue after meeting with ICC and BCCI and after that it will release the schedule of Champion Trophy. Which match will be played where . Sri Lanka, UAE or Bangladesh can be any one of these three venues.
According to sources it was revealed that Pakistan was going to release the schedule on 11th November because they were sure that the Indian cricket team is coming to Pakistan for the champions trophy 2025 but it did not happen like that. Now Pakistan will again have to reschedule all the matches of the tournament according to neutral venue decided by PCB and BCCI. Which is tombs approved by ICC.
